When a light strikes on a path and return back this process is known as reflection .

Law of reflection

The law of reflection states that,

On reflection from a smooth surface, the angle of the reflected ray is equal to the angle of the incident ray .

Answer:

 \longmapsto Reflection is the bouncing back off light from a shiny, smooth or a polished surface.

 \longmapsto Laws of Reflection :

  1. The incident ray, the reflected ray & the normal lies in the same plane on the point of indifference.
  2. Angle of incidence is always equal to angle of reflection.   \boxed{ \angle \tt \: i =  \angle \tt \:r}

 \longmapsto Yes, light always travels in a straight line and the property by which light travels in a straight line is known as Rectilinear Propagation of Light .
