The whole mechanism of reflex action occurs in such a fashion that there is no conscious control of the brain. Stimulation occurs through the peripheral nervous system and the response to this peripheral nerve stimulation is involuntary. In a reflex action, the spinal cord along with the brain stem is responsible for the reflex movements.

A few examples of reflex action are:

When light acts as a stimulus, the pupil of the eye change

Hey friend,

Here is the answer :-

➡ Such types of unwanted activities on which there is no control occur naturally and spontaneously are called reflex action. In reflex action there is no time of thinking and understanding and these occur automatically. Thus, reflex action is an inborn automatic response to a stimulus and it is functional unit of the nervous system. It was firstly detected and invented by Marshal Hal.

EXAMPLE : 1. If an extremely cold or hot object is picked up then it is immediately dropped out.

2. If an object moves on our face then we blink our eyes.

3. If the smell of our favourite dishes comes then our salivary glands pour water in our mouth.
