Regionalism in India is defined as a kind of loyalty or feeling towards the interest of a specific region. It is an ideology of a group of people who reside in the same geographical area.

Regionalism is not just a territorial unit, but it is a culmination of political and many other socio-economic factors.

Regionalism in India can be due to the low rate of economic growth, social expenditure, and investment infrastructure by the state on many factors like sanitation, education etc.

Also, economic reasons, political parties, and socialist organizations exploit for political divisions causing regionalism.

As the name indicate regionalism is the strong feeling if someone about it's region .It's because people starting giving priority  to their own region  than the whole country . This may be due to to the social as well as the economic status of the region . Mostly regionalism is influenced by the politics they turn it according to their self.
Some time social organizations can also be the cause of it.
