hey frnd☺

_________

↪A piece of countryside breaks off from the underlying countryside, and slides downhill. The slide occurs at the surface of the earth, and the slide is not 'constrained' by any rock above it - it is 'loose.

☆ Landslides may also occur under the sea - but again, at the surface of the solid ground at the base of the water.

Answer:

Dams by itself do not cause any earthquake. The purpose of any dam is to impound the flowing water. This leads to formation of reservoir in which a large portion of land is submerged along with the river course on which the dam is made.
