Representative Elements➙ Those elements within the first two families & the last six families or groups of the Periodic Table.

❖ Another name of representative elements are the Group 'A' elements or the main group elements.

❖ Each group no. for the representative elements corresponds to how many valence electrons an element has.

❖ Representative elements are the most abundant elements on earth.

❖ There are two sets of groups in the periodic table:-

♦ 1st set are Group A elements & are also known as representative elements.

♦ 2nd set are Group B elements & are also known as transition metals. 

❖ The S - block & P - block elements together in the modern periodic table are known as Representative Elements.

The Representative Elements are those elements within the first two families (Groups I and II on the far left) and the last six families or groups (on the right) of the Periodic Table. The Transition Metals are the elements in those Groups within the middle of the Table.
