Reproduction is defined as the process by which living things produce offsprings of their own kind.

There are two types of reproduction:-

1. Sexual reproduction

2.Asexual reproduction.

The process of of fusion of male and fella gametes to form a zygote is known as sexual reproduction.

The process of reproduction in which only a single parent is involved is known as asexual reproduction.

Reproduction:

Reproduction is a biological process by which organism produce their offspring to continue their species.The offsprings are similar to their parents or parent . This is an important feature.

Types of reproduction:

1. Asexual reproduction:

In asexual reproduction, only a single parent arise the new offspring. Fusion of gametes doesn't happen in asexual reproduction, So, next generation is less diverse and identical to the parent.

Examples of asexual reproduction are: Budding, binary fission, fragmentation etc.

2. Sexual reproduction:

In sexual reproduction, male and female gametes fuse to give rise to an offspring. This give diversity in the next generation and they can evolve as per they need.
