Heyy dear♥️

Respiration is the process by which food taken through nutrition gets oxidized and release energy for performing various activities. During this process oxygen acquired by organism from outside the body and it is used to break down the food materials to provide energy.

We can simple say that, it is the process of biochemical oxidation of nutrients at cellular level. It is a catabolic process in which exchange of gases takes place between the body and outside environment.

This process in a complete way can be written in the form of equation as:

Food + oxygen → CO2 + water + energy

Hope you got it :)
