When a sound is made in a big hall or auditorium, the sound waves suffer multiple reflections from the walls, ceilings and other materials found in the hall. Due to this, the sound persists for some time even after the source has stopped producing sound.

Defination
The persistence of sound due to repeated reflection is known as reverberation.

reverberation or reverb is created when sound or a signal is reflected causing a large number of reflections to build up and then decay as the sound is absorbed by the surfaces of the object in the space, includes furniture ,people and air
