A landform or landmass which eventually is formed by alluvial deposit that takes place within a river is called a riverine island. Majuli is the only river island of India and also the largest inhabited riverine island of Brahmaputra

Explanation:

The major difference between a river island and a riverine island is that 'riverine' means 'relating to' or 'resembling a river' such as the many islands formed in Bangladesh near the mouth of the Brahmaputra.
