Explanation:

Root pressure is the positive hydrostatic pressure that develops in the xylem sap of the roots.

Therefore, when water enters into the xylem from pericycle, a pressure is developed in the xylem of the roots which raise the water to a certain height in the xylem.

This pressure is called root pressure.
