Salivary glands are found at your mouth region. They secrete saliva which contains salivary amylase (an enzyme which digests starch into maltose) and mucin. The saliva secretion is stimulated when food is consumed. Your saliva lubricates your food to make it easier to swallow and move along the alimentary canel just like your tongue rolls your food into boli (plural).
