Satellite links are used for communication over a long distance. It is used for very long distance wireless communication which may be at distant geographical locations.

Advantages

▪︎Satellite communication is economic early compared to Terrestrial communication particularly where long distance are involved.

▪︎The user has control over their own network.

Disadvantages

▪︎Huge initial cost is involved.

▪︎Sometimes time gap is between communication is annoying and is therefore not efficient for data transmission.
