Vector quantity: having both magnitude and direction
Scalar quantity: having only magnitude
For vector quantity best eg is displacement and for Scalar quantity it is distance

the physics qualities which have only magnitude but no direction are called as scalar.
e.g.,distance,mass,time,speed,etc.

the physical qualities which have both magnitude as well as directions are called vector quality.
e.g.,displacement,acceleration,velocity,force,etc.
