what is scaler and what is vector

Scalar means when a body is having only magnitude. Vectar means when a body is having both magnitude and direction.scalar is used in distance and speed.vectar is used in displacement and velocity. Plz make it branlinest answer because I hope so the answer is clear and to the point.
