the phenomenon of bending of light into different directions due to diffraction which is a phenomena which occurs when interference occur to waves which are produced by coherent source and itself acts a wavelet..... this was my class 12 explanation...

Light scattering is a type of scattering in which light in the form of propagating energy is scattered. light scattering can be thought of as the deflection of a ray from straight path.
