Scattering of light -
• It is the phenomenon of change in the direction of light on strking particles like an atom, molecules, dust particles, water droplet, etc.
• Very fine particles scatter colors of shorter wavelength like blue.
• Small particles scatter color of longer wavelength like red.
• Bigger particles scatter the color white.

Blue color of the sky -
•Due to scattering of light
• Top layer of atmosphere conatins very fine particles and they scatter blue color of shorter wavelength.

•During sunrise and sunset, sun is mear the horizon.

The rays of the sun has to pass thorugh larger distance in the atmosphere

Near the horizon, shorter wavelength color like blue will scatter off and only the longer wavelength colors like red scatter less and reach our eyes.

the sky is blue is because of three simple factors put together: that sunlight is made out of light of many different wavelengths, that Earth’s atmosphere is made out of molecules that scatter different-wavelength light by different amounts, and the sensitivity of our eyes. Put these three things together, and a blue sky is inevitable. Here’s how it all comes together.
