ashkay: so is there no particular formula for sec^2 theta + tan^2 theta?
goyoolka: sec^2theta - tan^2theta = 1

Sec²Θ + Tan²Θ
= 1 + Tan²Θ + Tan²Θ
= 1 + 2Tan²Θ
= 1 + (2Sin²Θ / Cos²Θ)
= Cos²Θ + 2Sin²Θ / Cos²Θ
= 1 - Sin²Θ + 2Sin²Θ / Cos²Θ
= 1 + Sin²Θ / Cos²Θ

Hope this helps.
