Some features of secondary meristem are as follows:-

1. It gets developed from primary tissue.

2. Development of this occurs by the process of dedifferentiation.

3. In this we see secondary meristem soon in comparison of primary meristem.

4. Secondary growth is developed by the process of secondary meristem.

5. Cork cambium & interfascicular cambium is the best example in dicot stem category.

6. While in dicot root cork cambium and vascular cambium are the best examples.

7. Sequence which it follows is:- Promeristem ==> Primary meristem ==> Primary permanent tissue ==> Secondary meristem ==> Secondary permanent tissue.
