Hello,
A solid section is defined as the flat surface that is obtained by ideally cutting a solid with a plane. If there is no further indication, the section is considered to be obtained by cutting the solid with a plane perpendicular to the direction of elongation. Such section type is also called cross section.
With this term we can also define:
1) measure the area of the above surface;
2) the part of a solid bounded by one or more secantial planes (for example, in the case of the sphere, hemispheric or spherical shell)
Bye :-)
