Selection is the process of identifying and choosing the best person out of a number of soon to be candidates for the job.
Selection Process:-
1. Preliminary screening- to eliminate unfit job seekers.
2. Selection tests and interview- to measure aptitudes, intelligence, personality, etc. and to evaluate the applicant's suitability for the job.
3. Reference and background checks, e.g., names, addresses and telephone numbers of known persons.
4. Selection decision- from among the candidates who pass the tests, interviews and reference checks.
5. Medical examination, i.e., medical fitness test.
6. Job offer and contract employment- regarding pay, hours of work and other terms and conditions.
