Self indicator is actually a chemical substance which can mark the end point of a titration or any other reaction along with self-participation in the reaction.
For example, acidified Potassium dichromate paper turns from orange to green in presence of Sulphur dioxide.
K2Cr2O7+H2SO4+3SO2=K2SO4+Cr2(SO4)3+H2o
Here,Cr2(SO4)3 is green due to which, the entire colour turns bright green.
But some indicators like litmus do not change its own chemical composition to indicate colour change.
