Sludge is a thick, soft, wet mud or a similar viscous mixture of liquid and solid components, especially the product of an industrial or refining process.

Sludge is produced from the treatment of wastewater in  septic tank it is  ,thick, soft, wet mud or a similar viscous mixture of liquid and solid components, especially the product of an industrial or refining process.

Sewage is the term used for wastewater that often contains faeces, urine and laundry waste.
