it is the type of cultivation in which a forest is burnt and then in the ash seeds are sown . it is not good method as the land becomes infertile after a short period of time and also it makes the farmers force to repeat the same process with the another forest. I should be banned

What is shifting cultivation ?
Shifting cultivation is a system which often involves cleaning of a piece of land after cultivation. This process is followed by several years of cultivation or farming until the soil loses fertility.
What are its disadvantages ?
The main disadvantage of this type of cultivation is the destruction of large areas of land, primarily crop fields and tracts of forest due to frequent cultivation.
Once the field looses it's fertility it cannot be used again for cultivation leaving behind large fields vacated. This also hampers environmental and economic consequences by reducing the growth potential for crops in certain areas, which limits the variety and quantity of agricultural goods farmers can produce.
Hope that helps !!!
