Explanation:

A short circuit is an electrical circuit that allows a current to travel along an unintended path with no or very low electrical impedance. This results in an excessive current flowing through the circuit. The opposite of a short circuit is an "open circuit", which is an infinite resistance between two nodes.

Answer:

A short circuit is an electrical that allows a current to travel along an unidented path with no or very low electrical impedance. Thus results in an excessive current flowing through the circuit. The opposite of a short circuit is an "open curcuit", which is an infinite resistance between two nodes. In easier words (in reference to noun) it means, an electrical circuit in a device of lower resistance than that of a normal circuit, especially one resulting from the unidented contact of components and consequent accidental diversion of the current, and (in reference to electrical devices), it means, malfunction or failure, or cause to this, as a result of a short circuit.
