near(short) sightedness is also know as myopia.

in these defect a person cannot see the far object clearly...

but it can see nearby object very clearly....

this defect occurs because the image is not forming on the retina,it forms in front of the retina....

myopia can be corrected by using a proper power of concave lens...

because concave lens is a diverging lens ...

it collects all the light rays and then it focuses all the light rays on the retina.... then a clearly image is seen.....
