Different states of India fought against the British in different ways. It was the time when the Indian Troops were rarely being suppressed by British. The Indians were so strong at that particular time that Britishers had to back down.Due to the revolt The British eliminated various taxes and became more lenient yet strict towards Indians and also disposed the act of Doctrine of Lapse.The people were given their honours and titles back and its priviledges as well.But the Britishers also introduced the policy of Divide & Rule which became the most fatal dividing India into India and Pakistan.
