What is so special about trophics that might account for their greater biological diversity?

Hey there, as you may know, it is evident that there is a far greater diversity in *tropic* regions when compared to temperate regions.

The reasons could be many, I'll list some of 'em;

Tropic regions are more stable than temperate regions, temperate regions undergo frequent environmental changes like glaciation etc. where as the tropics don't undergo such

Tropic regions have more species because they have been there for longer time and provide a perfect platform for speciation where as the temperate regions don't provide the platform for it.
