soil erosion - the wearing away of the top most layer of the soil is called soil erosion. Some type of soil erosion are sheet erosion, wind erosion etc.
it is caused by defective methods of farming etc.
soil degradation - due to many human activities such as mining, over grazing, over irrigation, dumping of toxic wastes in land etc. the soil is polluted. Activities like agriculture, industrial and pollution, unsustainable agricultural practices also contribute to this.
