Removal of outer most layer of soil by natural forces.
Natural forces like air, deforestation, flowing water etc cause soil erosion.
Measures to check soil erosion in hilly areas:-
1. Plant more trees.
2. Ploughing along the counter lines can decelerate the flow of water down the slopes.
