sol
it is homogeneous mixture of solute and solvent.the solute particles are very small i.e. less than 10 raised power -8 cm in diameter the particles are not visible even with a powerful mocroscope .entire solution passes through filter paper particles dont show tyndall effect
particles don't settle down due to gravity
for examples
alloys,alcohols in water,nacl in water
suspension
1.heterogeneous
2.the solute particles are quite large
3.visible with naked eyes
4.cannot pass through filter paper
5.may or may not show tyndall effect
6.particles settle down due to gravity
example mixture of chalk powder or sand in water

manjinder55: solution- it appears homogeneous but actually it is heterogeneous the solute particles are between 10 raised power -7 cm to 10 power -5 cm particles are visible with powerful microscope . The particles can pass through filter paper show tyndall effect particles don't settle due to gravity
manjinder55: example clouds, mud, most of syrups hope this helps uuu

Hii friend...here is your answer..

Solution is clear, particle size is less than 1 nm, solute is completely soluble in solvent. No effect of gravity.
Suspension is turbid, particles settle down after some time due to gravity. Particles insoluble in solvent. Large paticle size.

Sol is a type of colloid inn which dispersed phase is solid and dispersion media is liquid. Its particle size ranges from 1 nm to 1 micrometer. It is not clear (turbid), but it is stable and doesn't settle down. It scatters light (Tyndall effect).
