सौर बैटरी या सौर सेल फोटोवोल्टाइक प्रभाव के द्वारा सूर्य या प्रकाश के किसी अन्य स्रोत से ऊर्जा प्राप्त करता है। जस्ता-अम्लीय (लेड एसिड) और निकल कैडमियम सौर बैटरियां प्रयोग होती हैं।

Two materials used for making solar cell are Gallium and Silicon.
 
Limitations of Solar cells— (i) It is not available at night and on a cloudy day. (ii) Energy reaching the surface is very much diffused, so direct utility is limited
