Explanation:

SOLAR DAY- time taken by the sun to return to it's initial position in sky which is equals to 24hours.

SIDEREAL DAY-time taken by a star to return to it's initial position which is equal to 23hours,56minutes and 4seconds.

U may have doubt that sun is also a star.

Actually, sun is not a star,it is a hot plasma which emits radiations from it's core layer.

Star is the object which depends on sun. That is,it depends on sun for light to shine. Most of them think that star shines by itself but it's totally wrong statement because star takes light from sun and appears as if it is shining by itself to our eyes, Which is an illusion.

HOPE U UNDERSTOOD THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOT PLASMA(SUN) AND A STAR WHICH DEPENDS ON SUN'S LIGHT .

HOPE IT IS HELPFUL TO U!
