Solution polymerization is a method of industrial polymerization. In this procedure, a monomer is dissolved in a non-reactive solvent that contains a catalyst. ... Moreover, the viscosity of the reaction mixture is reduced, not allowing autoacceleration at high monomer concentrations.

In solution polymerisation the monomer is dissolve in a suitable inert solvent along with chain transfer agent . The free radical initiator is also dissolves the solvent medium. The presence of inert solvent help to control discosity and promole proper heart transfer.
The major disadvantage of this technique is that chain transfer to the solvent can not be compercy is different to get high molecular weight products. The polymer firmed has to recovered from solution either by evarporustion of the Solvent or by precipitate in a non solvent and removal of their final traces extremely difficult ...
Eg : Acrylo nitrile
Iso butylene
Block-co polymers can also be made by the technique
