hala mate,

Vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach a person's or animal's ear is known as SOUND.

UNIT of perceived loudness equal to the loudness of a 1000-hertz tone at 40 dB above threshold, starting with 1 sone.

A long body of water curling into an arched form and breaking on the shore is known as WAVE.

There are two basic types of wave motion for mechanical waves: longitudinal waves and transverse waves. The animations below demonstrate both types of wave and illustrate the difference between the motion of the wave and the motion of the particles in the medium through which the wave is travelling.
