In India, okra is cultivated mainly in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa.

In north it is cultivated in rainy and spring season. In rainy season, it is sown during June-July and for spring season it is cultivated in February - March.

Seed rate: It is the number of seeds planted in a unit area (acre or hectare or sq ft or sq m) to ensure a maximum yield.
