Greenwich Village is the bigger picture, encompasing Washington Square park from all between 14th and Houston, with Broadway marking the eastern boarder. West Village is, oddly enough, only from 6th Ave and west, where the streets are no longer in a grid. It's about half the size of Greenwich Village.
