many non flowering plants reproduce by spore formation. spores r tiny cells protected by a thick wall to help them survive in unfavourable conditions. they r small and light and can easily float in air. when a spore carried by air, finds the right conditions (food, warmth, moisture) it grows into a new individual. moulds, mushrooms, ferns and mosses reproduce in this way
