HEYA!!!!!!

your answer is.........

Question:

What is static friction?

Answer;

Definition;

Static friction is the friction that exists between a stationary object and the surface on which it's resting. Once the objects have already started moving, kinetic friction takes over.

Laws of static friction;

The maximum force of static friction is not dependent on the area of contact.

The maximum force of static friction is not dependent on the area of contact.The maximum force of static friction is comparative to the normal force i.e., if the normal force increases, the maximum external force that the object can endure without moving, also increases.

Formula;

force of static friction ≤ (coefficient of static friction)(normal force) maximum force of static friction = (coefficient of static friction)(normal force)

Fs ≤ μs η , and Fsmax = μs η

Fs = force of static friction

μs = coefficient of static friction

η = normal force (Greek letter "eta")

≤ means "less than or equal to"

Fsmax = maximum force of static friction

Example;

A car parked on a hill. The brakes apply static friction to the wheel hubs, and the wheels hold fast to the ground because of static friction.

hope it helps you:)
