Statistical entropy is same as the term entropy in thermodynamics. It is a measure of the disorder in a substance at the level of molecules, but aggregated and measured at the macroscopic level. The entropy is also a measure of the kinetic energy of the substance.

At higher temperatures the entropy of a system is higher. At absolute zero temperature entropy is zero.

The entropy of a closed insulated system is a constant. Also further, the entropy of the universe is constantly increasing.
