A stimuli is a external function (temperature, heat, smell) which makes the body react.

Example: the temperature is very very cold. your reactors react to the stimuli (the cold) and send a message to your brain. Your brain tells your effectors to tell your muscles to move and the response is you are to shivering to warm up.
