Hey friend,

Stoichiometry - Calculations based on chemical equations!

ФChemical Equation -
It is a systematic representation of chemical change by means of formula and symbols.

Following information is received from a chemical equation -
1. the molecular proportion
2. the relative mass
3. the relative volumes (if gaseous)

ФPercentage composition -
It is the percentage by weight of each element in the compound.

 Percentage       Weight of the element in one molecule of compound x 100
Composition = -------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                   Gram Molecular weight of the compound

ФEmpirical Formula -
It is the formula of a compound which shows the simplest whole number ratio between the atoms of the elements in the compound.

ФMolecular Formula -
It is the chemical formula which represents the actual number of atoms of each element present in a molecule of the compound.

Example -
Molecular formula =  C_{6}  H_{12}  O_{6}
Empirical formula =  C_{1}  H_{2}  O_{1}

Hope it helps!
