stomata is the small opening on the epidermis of leaves which helps in transpiration and opening and closing of stomata.

STOMATA

In botany, a stoma, also called a

stomata, is a pore, found in the

epidermis of leaves, stems, and

other organs, that facilitates gas

exchange. The pore is bordered by

a pairof specialized parenchyma

cells knownas guard cells that are

as guard cells that are responsible

for regulating the size of the

stomatal opening.
