Subject is the main part of the sentence. The thing about which the sentence is is the subject.

The rest of the sentence is the predicate.

For eg:

Riya likes to sing.

subject: Riya

predicate: likes to sing

Thesubject is the part of the sentence that tell us who or what does something it can also tell us to whom or to what something happens.

the predicate in that part of the sentence that tell us what happens to the subject or what the subject does.

For example:- The girl was laughing.

Here, girl is the subject and the predicate was laughing.
