Definition:

The changing of a solid directly into vapours on heating, and of vapours into solid form on cooling is known as Sublimation.

⏺️The common substance which undergo sublimation are;

  • Ammonium chloride
  • Iodine
  • Comphhor
  • Naphthalene

⏺️Another example of sublimation is provided by solid carbon dioxide (Which is commonly known as dry ice).

⏺️Solid carbon dioxide sublimates to form carbon dioxide gas.
