Sublimation is the process of change of state of gas into solid and vice-versa directly without entering the liquid state..
e.g Ammonium Chloride, Naphthalene Balls, Iodine etc..

Sublimation :

The process in which solid changes directly into gaseous state on heating is known as sublimation.

The sublime substance - the substance which changes directly into a gaseous state on heating is called a sublime substance.

 

Its process -

The mixture of sublime and non-sublime substance is heated, the sublime substance gets changed into gaseous form directly and separates from non-sublime substance.

 

Examples of sublime substances -

camphor, iodine, naphthalene, ammonium chloride.

Sublimation is used to separate the mixture of sublime and other non-sublime substance.

Example -

sand and camphor,

ammonium and sand
