What is sublimation critical point
Answers
Sublimation is an endothermic phase transition that occurs at temperatures and pressures below a substance's triple point in its phase diagram. In thermodynamics, the triple point of a substance is the temperature and pressure at which the three phases (gas, liquid, and solid) coexist in thermodynamic equilibrium.
Sublimation critical point refers to the maximum or minimum temperature and pressure beyond which the state of the matter cannot be changed.
Sublimation is the process of transition of solid matter directly into gas without it being converted into its liquid form.
This process occurs at a particular temprature or pressure and beyond that temprature or pressue the process of sublimation can not be carried out.
This point is the Critical point.
Dry ice is a substance which sublimates at a temperature of -78.5℃ . It is known as liquid nitrogen but it is seen in vapour state which consists of carbon dioxide gas and cold and humid air.
