sublimation means change of solid state directly into gaseous state without coming into liquid state or vice versa. for example dry ice with which is carbon dioxide. this gas is called dry ice because it gets directly converted into gaseous state from the solid state and it does not show the property of coming into liquid state. another example when we put naphthalene balls in get disappeared without coming into liquid form and directly convert into gaseous form.
