sublimation is the process of conversion of a substance from solid state to gaseous state without undergoing liquid state
for example -- sublimation of camphor

when a solid substance on heating gets directly converted into gas without being in liquid form it is called sublimation..
when a camphor is heated it gets converted into smoke(gas) without being converted into any liquid form
for figure just show a burning camphor and below it write
heat
camphor ------------->smoke
(solid) (gas)
