Subsidiary company is one in which the other company has substantial influence, i.e. which is owned and controlled by some other company (holding company). A subsidiary company is also called daughter company.

For example- If ABC Ltd. has 51 or more than 51% shares of XYZ ltd, then XYZ ltd is said to be subsidiary of ABC ltd.
