subsistence farming is mainly practices to meet the needs of the farmer's family. In this type of farming, the farmer use primitive methods to produce a variety of crops. he does not look into the suitability of the soil for the cultivation of those crops. the labour is provided by the members of the farmers family. all types of manures and little of chemical fertilizers are used. the production is generally low. therefore, the farmers are poor and their standard of living is low.
